Mark Hauser attended Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Entrepreneurial Management.

In the early 1990s, he owned and operated an independent retail electronics store that specialized in high-end home theater products. He co-founded a company specializing in custom-made audio-visual installations for commercial clients such as hospitals, hotels, and churches.

In 1994 Mr. Hauser began working at a local grocery store chain, where he quickly rose to become one of their top-performing managers; during this time, he also earned his Certified Grocery Manager Certification through the National Grocers Association.
