Gino Pozzo is an Italian businessman and Chairman of the Watford F.C. football club, recently ranked in Forbes as the world’s 22nd highest-paid sports team owner. He is the son of Giampaolo Pozzo, founder and owner of the Italian football club Udinese. Along with his family, Gino Pozzo has been responsible for turning Udinese into a European powerhouse, who have held their own against some of Europe’s biggest clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Milan.

Gino Pozzo was born in Italy and raised in England. He studied business at the London School of Economics and later went into a career as a banker for HSBC in London. Before returning to England as an investment manager, he moved to Rome to work for his family’s construction company. In 2003, Pozzo became the majority shareholder in Watford FC, buying the club from Elton John and taking over as chairman.

Watford Football Club is an English football club and plays their home games at the Vicarage Road stadium in Watford, Hertfordshire. The club has existed since 1881 and has played over a thousand games. The club won the Football League once, in 1957.
