Andrew Alexander, in 1944 was born in London, England before he moved to Canada in 1951. He studied at Tri-State College in Indiana and later on joined Ryerson University in Toronto. Before joining Comedy, his career was advanced by his experiences as a truck driver, magazine editor, and tree salesman. He is the co-founder CEO of Second City Toronto Inc. until March 2021, when he retired and freelanced. Despite taking his career worldwide, being a producer, he has spent much of his time in Chicago and Los Angeles, the major entertainment and comedy centers.
Andrew Alexander is a prolific television, film, and theatre producer at most in Second City. Being the CEO and executive producer has always made the company’s status shine in the international comedy empire. In addition, the second City, through its training centers and theaters, Second City has offered outreach programs that have made them more popularized and improved quality in North America.
In his producing career, Andrew Alexander has worked together with Canadian Legendaries like John Candy, Eugene Levy, Colin Mochrie, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, and Mike Myers. In addition, he has produced TV and films projects with viral stars in Canada. Also, he has developed numerous programs for networking, including Comedy Central, ABC, MGM, Disney, Show Time, NBC, HBO, and CBS.
